Words from an Insomniac still trying to find her way

Days off are Paradise

What I like about today
There’s nothing to give, nothing to say
just aware in this bed,
that the dream has begun,
through the sound of your breath
as black curtains fight the sun

Let us be, I’ve waited all week,
to wake up on my own
to not have to think, about the clock
about the hour,
this is the moment I relinquish all desire
while watching you dream

The shower awaits
for yesterday’s mess,
the dirty dishes in the sink,
yes I left them again
my clothes on the floor,
my body beneath, your skin my relief

I’ll see you in an hour
when your slumber reveals,
the bright shiny you
from long ago years
I hope you dreamt only good things
that only end with me. (wink-wink)

The Colour in Me That You Bring to life

Set my soul adrift,

ease my troubled mind, again

with your lasting impression,

your haunting voice

in the middle of the night;

just like every other night.

I ache for your words

to release me.

I could fall asleep

to the music of your life

safe within these walls

of tenderness

your voice, like safe arms

within reach.

You send me soaring,

beyond fantasy,

beyond dreams of yesterday,

and you’re still a total stranger.

I fall to floor,

in need of wanting more,

more than words could ever express.

My four walls encase the echo

of your song,

stay a little while longer.

Silently, I ache,

for the longing, for the need.

I could go on forever,

unaware of my surroundings,

ignored by all the wallpaper

knowing it’s you

who moves me so.

You’ve become that strong,

definitive feeling,

one of rapture, of simplicity,

oblivious of all that we hide,

it begins in the heart; of all places.

It’s in your voice

where I lose control

of my emotions,

the urge to cry, to feel safe

the urge to ache, not wanting anything

other than your continuation.

I am overwhelmed

in such a good way

by this unruly desire,

I want to capture the meaning,

the familiar sound from

an unfamiliar man,

with unfamiliar lips…

Are you able to catch my drift?                                                               5/03/2006

Young Lovers, Where are you at 4 in the a.m.?

young lovers,

some are sleeping

of each other’s warmth

each other’s breath

so close, next to eager lips.

dreamers live passionately

frame by frame

if only seconds at a time

of lovers on a high

with no end in sight

and nothing in their way

lovers sway,

within each strong embrace

engulfed in a beautiful glow

an even more pleasant scent

heaven kissed

and no one

wants to wake up from this…

young lovers,

wanting, needing

what books divulge in

what movies indulge in.

love wearing a little bit

of lust

a dash of sin

a hunger for attention

anything but loneliness.

young lovers seek out others

in dark seductive bars

in far away destinations

of romance and eroticism

for a bit of what they crave,

just a taste

and a chance to

return the favor,

just the same.

young lovers,

are always in the mood

when the right melody is playing

when the right words are persuading

and fantasies are fulfilled

pleasure meets the thrill.

late night surprise

early morning release

who needs sleep

when lovers are around?

Feeling sexy

feeling bound and excited

kissed and enlightened

all senses heightened

no more daydreaming needed

this time is the real thing.

young lovers are always satisfied,

you can see it in their eyes

and in their walk.

young lovers

even those

that have been married so long

with no harm done

because each day feels

like the first aching burn

the first moment of a yearn

when hearts were on fire

and firsts were conquests

to be desired.

Even now in their wrinkles

in their aging bones

love still finds its way

in a walk, a conversation,

in silence and in sleep,

loves peeks its foolish grin

and stirs up feelings

new again.

young lovers,

love is always young

always yearning for a bit

for a grip on all of us.

give in

be uninhibited

for once

learn to live

just learn to let go

learn to never say no

and enjoy the moment

you dream of most.

Unlock the Door, for once

Cold but fresh

If only I were brave enough

To swim these waters

Music is heard from within

I sink, I swim

By your romantic mysteries

It is a summer like no other

Of cool breezes

non stop silence

This is what should always surround us

Lift me from this hell

From an everyday life I run from

We should be in heaven

My spirit against your skin

A little bit of goodness

A little bit of sin

If only you would touch me like before

Cold but beautiful

If only I were strong enough

To take control

for once

I keep the music close at all times

Forward on! Trusty soul

kindred spirit

We’ll one day take you by surprise
